But I just don't get that feeling with LJ anymore...

I am going to have to total disagree about LJ not being a blog. If they are not considered a blog, you might want to tell the people who created LJ since they call it a blogging platform. Blogs sites are a form of social networking sites. You blog, you share, people comment. It does not matter if it is a stand alone application on your web site or on a social application like LJ. They both are doing exactly the same thing.

I actually have been feeling this way with LJ for years. If you notice, I haven't really been posting in years. It has been years since there I've added a new friend with LJ. That is because nobody new has been signing up for around three to five years. The people on my friends list have been there since the beginning, but it has not grown. Now I notice not everyone has been posting for the past few months. The thing is why blog if most people will never see it. This is my love and hate with Facebook. Everyone I know and would like to keep informed is on Facebook, but Facebook does not have a blogging feature. Sure you can create quick statuses, but not an application for writing a blog/journal.

LJ might have been a blog when it first started but it's no where near being a blog now. It's just a massive internet message machine. Agree or disagree it's not what it used to be and it can't entirely be called a blog 100%.

Lots of people have felt the same way even me. However, I just use this thing to stay connected to the friends I have that aren't on FB or my internet messenger things. Personally I think people should use the phone more often to say hi.
